Torrevieja Bars, Clubs and Pubs
Nightlife is usually high on the agenda when it comes to holidaying in Spain, and the cosmopolitan city of Torrevieja doesn’t disappoint. With hundreds of bars, clubs, restaurants, cafes and tapas bars, the hardest part of having a great night out in this city is where to choose. As Torrevieja receives many thousands of holidaymakers from all over Europe, Britain, Scandinavia and inland Spain, there are bars catering to all nationalities. You will find most middle age Spanish residents and holidaymakers frequenting the many tapas bars in the city where drinks are very reasonably priced and in some of the bars come with a free tapas. The younger Spaniards are not really big drinkers and tend to favour the music bars and nightclubs. For the size of the city there are not many nightclubs, mainly due to the fact that licensing laws are quite relaxed in Spain and many of the bars have DJ’s, live music and stay open until the early hours.
Located close to the Friday Market, the long established Bar Carlos offers a choice of both local and international drinks, good food and entertainment most nights of the week. The owner, Carlos (how about that !!) is a great host and kids are always welcome. Keeper Bar is located next to the Man of the Sea monument on the beach promenade and is popular with the younger crowd. Many visit the bar for it’s unique feature, a live web cam on the terrace facing the sea, great for making your friends back home jealous. The bar serves Full English Breakfast, has great cocktails and plays funky music. British bars don’t get much livelier than Alikatz Bar, located just off ”Bar” street on Calle Heraclio 6 it offers karaoke most nights and during the summer months stays open till 4am. For lively rock music, Monroes Rock Cafe Bar is a must, located on Caballero de Rodas 71 and offering British favourites like Stella Artois lager and a good selection of malt whiskeys. On Calle Rafael Anton Perez, Bar del Mar is a popular venue and serves reasonably priced drinks, food and offers live entertainment most nights.
